Choosing a Classic Era dungeon by level

Classic Era has 21 dungeon entries here. Wailing Caverns is listed for levels 15 to 28. At level 30, Shadowfang Keep fits its band of 18 to 32. A listed band is a planning aid, not a minimum entry requirement. Read the entry message in the destination details before traveling.

Hardcore uses these Classic bands, but a yellow destination is not a safety rating. Bosses, patrols and escape routes still matter.

Classic raids and dungeon wings

There are 8 raid entries, including Upper Blackrock Spire in the raid category. Dire Maul's wings share a map and boss pool here. Destinations without a confirmed level band appear only when Show all levels is enabled, so an unknown level never becomes a recommendation.

What the level colors mean

Shadowfang Keep is yellow from level 18 through level 32, including both ends. Outside that band, its color compares your character with the nearest end of the band. Orange and red mark harder destinations; green and gray mark easier ones. In Classic, these bands choose a destination, while the separate entry message tells you its minimum entry requirement. Neither is a check of your gear or group balance.

Finding drops for your class

In Wailing Caverns, Lord Cobrahn can drop Cobrahn's Grasp, a waistitem requiring level 19. Its listed chance is ~20%est.. The class filter checks class restrictions, so an item can still appear even if your character lacks its weapon training or armor proficiency. Compare its stats with your current equipment before planning a run.

Classic Dire Maul wings and Blackrock Spire share boss pools on this page. A shared pool does not mean every boss is in every wing. Quest rewards and chest loot are excluded from these equipment lists. Open an item in the drop finder to compare its creature drops and estimated farming ranges. Chance ranges retain rounding, not a measured confidence interval.

Finding the entrance

Wailing Caverns is reached through The Barrens, while Deadmines is reached through Westfall. Open Map and entrance on either row for its zone map and entrance marker. Coordinates give the horizontal position first and vertical position second. The faction filter keeps dungeon restrictions separate from travel, so a destination may still require crossing enemy territory.
