How to level first aid in TBC

TBC Anniversary has 8 crafting recipes here for first aid, with a maximum skill of 375. 7 recipes have a matching recipe item. 0 require skill 375 or higher, so they do not help you reach that cap.

8 additional first aid recipes are left out because their learning requirement or availability is not established for TBC. A missing crafting route does not mean you cannot train further in the game.

The starting route uses Linen Bandage, consuming 1 Linen Cloth per craft. The shopping list counts each ingredient consumed. If you already have Linen Cloth in your bags, subtract that stock before buying more.

Recipe colors and material costs

Linen Bandage requires skill 1, turns yellow at 30, green at 45 and gray at 60. Orange grants skill every craft, yellow and green grant skill less reliably, and gray grants none. The green boundary is the midpoint between yellow and gray, rounded down to a whole skill point.

A worked first aid route

Starting at skill 1, the default target is 75. The available route reaches 60 using ~149 (67 to 231) crafts estimated. There is no eligible crafting recipe at 60, so the shopping list stops there.

For this route, Linen Cloth requires ~149 (67 to 231) estimated. Repeated ingredients are combined across steps. Crafted intermediate materials remain separate shopping entries, so subtract any that you make along the way.

Which first aid recipe uses fewer materials?

At skill 1, Linen Bandage consumes 1 reagent units per craft. Each item counts as one unit, regardless of its gold price. The route minimizes expected units over the entire skill range, including extra attempts after recipes turn yellow.

Strong Anti-Venom can be learned with Manual: Strong Anti-Venom. Check recipe access, quests and specializations before shopping. Exclude recipes you cannot learn or whose materials cost too much on your realm. Lock a known recipe to give it priority whenever it can grant skill; overlapping locks use the lower expected reagent total.

How estimated first aid craft counts work

Linen Bandage has a yellow boundary of 30 and a gray boundary of 60. Its estimated skill gain chance at skill 45 is (60 minus 45) divided by (60 minus 30). Expected crafts equal one divided by that chance. For skill 45 to 46, this gives ~2 (1 to 6) crafts est.

The Linen Bandage range covers at least 80% of outcomes under this estimated chance model, using the variance of independent attempts. It describes crafting luck under that model, rather than a guarantee about your game. For the longer route to 75, the planner recalculates chance after every skill gain. Update your current skill as you craft, and train the next profession rank before your current rank limit.

What differs in other versions?

TBC uses build 2.5.6.70577 for first aid. Classic has no additional recipe spells in this comparison. Forever adds recipes such as Toxin Study and Plague Doctor's Laboratory.
